Another day in paradise...

Saw the MTV for Phil Collin's Another Day in Paradise.. it was a hit during our times. A distant past? Yeah, ask the teenagers nowadays and they will most probably scratch their head.. Who? What?
It is a meaningful song, written to bring attention to the problem of homelessness all around the world. It was released to critical acclaim and a huge hit back then.

Paradise.. what exactly is it?
Paradise is a place in which existence is positive, harmonious and timeless. It is conceptually a counter-image of the miseries of human civilization, and in paradise there is only peace, prosperity, and happiness. Paradise is a place of contentment, but it is not necessarily a land of luxury and idleness. (source: wikipedia)
To some, paradise is a distant dream, a pursuit often interrupted by the daily rigours of life.
To me, true to wikipedia's definition, it simply, is a place of contentment, but not necessarily a land of luxury and idleness.. every word of it. And this place is also not necessarily Utopia or somewhere in the distant lands... it's just right under our nose.. Home.. where we share joy, laughter, love and simple pleasures in life with our loved ones. I know I have been there, with you right by my side.
To you? I do hope you're residing in paradise.. a place in which existence is positive, harmonious and timeless.. a place where there is only peace, prosperity and happiness. One day, another day, more days.. forever more days.

Was going through Brian's thegaleria.com website, showcasing his works.. suddenly thought of looking for Ren & Piotr wedding album. Remember? He was Ren's wedding photographer and I was shocked to see him at Ren's wedding after so many years, since Uni hostel days.

Somehow, I have this feeling that I might find your photo taken during the wedding party at Ren's place. When I found the album, realise that he had posted about 60 photos... slim chance of finding you, I tell myself.

At first glance, didn't find any of our group photos taken.. but got this nagging feeling that I might find you somewhere in the crowd.. somewhere..

True enough, my efforts paid off... you were captured in an off-focus shot. Brian was taking aim at a mother talking to her kids and in the background.. was you. You were brushing your hair lightly..

I remember.. you were sitting at the living room beside Ren's grandmother. You talked to her for a while in Hainanese.

Trust your feelings... randomness of life, serendipity...someday, somehow, somewhere

灵感

在某一个无聊的学校假期...
老公：喂，老婆，你以前在中学时期学美术，你的画因该很美的，画一俩幅摆在家里吧！
老婆：我的画其实不赖，以前还在慈善筹款活动中卖过咯！可是，现在就是没灵感，不要！

老婆：喂，老公，今天你想下厨试什么新菜给我吃呀！
老公：老实说我如果不在银行上班的话，我一定去当厨师。我煮的菜不错吧！可是现在没灵感，不要！

老婆：今天灵感特别强，想了一些不错的教书方式，学生也很合作，很喜欢我的教材！呵呵真是美好的一天！
老公：灵感我也有！今天在办公时，碰上了棘手的问题。灵感一到，想了想一套解决的方案！我这一天也不赖喔！

老公：呵呵，我今天灵感也来了，想到好法子在网上游戏(Warcraft)里赚很多黄金，我看我还比你迟睡啦！

灵感呀灵感？是心灵突来的感应，不能控制的吗？还是在自我控制范围里的能力呢？现在，我一有闲暇时间就想要在我的部落格里写些我们平时的点点滴滴，怀念过去。要回想起平时不会放在心上的情与事，人与景，实在是不容易。我们很容易忽略每天发生在周遭的事物，记起的大多是一些令你特别开心还是伤心的事。
说也奇怪，我现在最快乐的，莫过于回味和你在一起，过着再平凡不过的日子。最怕的就是忘记任何的小点滴！这样的话，我就不需要什么灵感了。只要心平气和，仔细的想一想，美好的回忆就慢慢地浮现。
现在，我最需要的其实是另外一种“灵感”，和你灵魂沟通的感应。
老婆呀，你现在好吗？过的开心吗？有什么想要的吗？想吃什么，买什么？有什么话要和我说？
