Choices in life...

Imagine you are faced with 2 choices. You can either choose to be burnt alive or you can choose to jump out of the burning building. You might ask... wtf... what kind of questions are you asking? Are you nuts?

It's not funny.



Look at this picture. Sept 11 2001. This man chose the later. He made an heroic choice and did it with dignity and grace. He was caught in this photo, whereby he tucked both his hands by the side of his body and left leg bent at the knee, plunging to his death.

Title of the photo is aptly: "If he were not falling, he might very well be flying".

So next time when you find yourself stressed over choices, think again. Your choices are not that bad after all.

Self-Help

When you have a problem. You learn to deal with it yourself, fullstop.

Do you expect your friends to help you solve your problems? Do you think that they understand you more than you do? Do you feel that they should provide you with a listening ear? Do you expect them to show some concerns on you when you feel down? Do you expect a reply when you ask a question? Do you have expectations? Can you have expectations at all? Does anyone care?

Oh my god, I am surprised that I can ask myself these questions again and again and again.. but what for?

When will I learn to ever grapple with my own expectations?

When you have a problem. Learn to deal with it...Cos only you can solve your own problem and that it lies with you, lies in you.

A Different Corner

I met you for the first time at the corner of Holland Village where the Crystal Jade Restaurant now stands. Now that we're in different corners of the world, the fond memory of our very first encounter still lingers...

I would have cared.. I would give anything in this world to be back to the same corner when I first met you and see you again.

返朴归真

返朴归真：去掉外在的装饰，恢复原来的质朴状态。

再深一层地探讨这四个字的意义。人的本质，一开始是纯洁，善良的。随着年龄的增长，接触了四周围的人，事与物后，慢慢地形成了自己思想与处事待人的一贯准则。不知不觉地，人的本质也开始变了。在金钱挂帅的社会里，人对物质的享受与期待，玷污了纯洁的心灵。价值观变了质，对亲情的看待也变淡了，没那么重要了。金钱能换来的享受与快乐，真的那么重要吗？那是一种持久不衰的快乐吗？在追求物质享受的过程中，忽略了对家人的关心与爱护，值得吗？

请放慢脚步，歇一歇，想一想。试试轻轻地聆听自己心灵深处的呼唤。尝试脱掉自己精心粉刷上的外壳，看一看自己内心“反扑归真”的状态，
想一想在你百年归老的那刹那，你最想要的，应该是什么东西。

那就是你生命里最最最重要的一件东西。换一换你前进的方向，往你该神往的目标前进吧！

（单单是名与利吗？再仔细地想一想。。。）

七七，思妻妻

回想起唐朝著名诗人白居易，《长恨歌》里一小段。字字真真切切地形容我现在的心情。
“七月七日长生殿，夜半无人私语时。在天愿作比翼鸟，在地愿为连理枝。天长地久有时尽，此恨绵绵无绝期。”

我也心血来潮，写了一小段：
字字，忆奕奕，依依。
七七，思妻妻，凄凄。

《青玉案·元夕》

辛弃疾《青玉案·元夕》

东风夜放花千树，
更吹落，星如雨。
宝马雕车香满路。
凤箫声动，玉壶光转，
一夜鱼龙舞。

蛾儿雪柳黄金缕，
笑语盈盈暗香去。
众里寻他千百度，
蓦然回首，那人却在，
灯火阑珊处。

突然记得辛弃疾的这首诗，到百度看了看诗的解释。喜欢以下的见解：

这首词的意思是说：元宵佳节的晚上，仿佛一阵东风吹来，催开了树茂花繁，原来是焰火流光，在夜空中绽放千重繁华，又纷纷被风吹落，象一场不期而来的流星雨。
宝贵的名马，华丽的雕车，载着美丽的人儿驶过，香气弥漫了整条街。萧声如歌，明月皎洁，时光悄悄流转，整晚上花灯（鱼灯、龙灯）都在绽放光华，美不胜收。美人如花，仕女如云，她们一路上娇笑俏语，带着若有若无的幽香渐渐远去。可是，她们都不是我心底的那人。夜深了，我千百次寻找、等待的那一个人还没有出现。我的心充满疲惫和失落，不经意一回首，却发现她在那灯火寥落的地方静静地站着。

第一层意思：表明了感情路上的曲折和峰回路转，是爱情的一种存在方式。
第二层意思：作者借此自喻明志。表达自己和词中的女子一样高洁自持、孤芳自赏、娴静高雅。不肯与当时的世风和黑暗现实同流合污，宁可一个人寂寞站于灯火阑珊处，也不肯屈身降志，去和志向不同的当权者凑热闹。
第三层意思：它表达了人生的一种境界，或者是一种哲理，这种哲理或境界是人生中超越时间、空间的理解，具有永恒性和宇宙性。不会因岁月、际遇、环境的不同而磨灭或忘却。 它是爱情的境界，是治学的境界，是成事的境界，是做人的境界，是人生的境界
